Garrett Fitzgerald: She's only been taking the Concerta for a few days, so we don't know if there will be a long-term benefit. However, the second day, she said "I don't think this is helping me think about things first." I think that the awareness to make this statement means that it's actually starting to work after all.

My little brother was put on Concerta this year; although he's nearly through high school, and I think the medication may have come too late in some ways (it's tough to make up three years in the remaining one), it definitely made a difference in his ability to pay attention in school. According to my mom, his teachers finally started to notice that he's an intelligent kid, and that in itself makes a difference. Hopefully it works out for your daughter.

I didn't vote for Harper, and disagree with him on most everything, but I actually think it's a good thing for him to assert our claim to the Arctic waters, if he follows through and actually puts some boats and people and so forth there to make the point. The Liberals, particularly in the last few years, seemed to spend a lot of time needling the US without actually doing anything substantive.

I personally wasn't worried that Harper would suck up to the US on everything - but I do worry that he'll suck up on things I disagree with!
