Oh dear, you've made me all hungry. Sadly, the only diners I've found down here (ATL) are either (a) way-too-upscale-bougie-nostalgia outfits that serve poached salmon and shakes-from-powder, or otherwise acceptable but staffed by cranked-out twenty-somethings, which just isn't the same as wizened ladies with nicotine for blood.
Also there's Waffle House, where I ended up last week, and where my server looked a bit too much like one Miss Noxeema Jackson, on a really bad night (1/appetizing).
A cynic to the end...as giddy as the thought of any/all of these going down is, I fear that not only will they wiggle away, but that the Democrats will fail to even manage serious gains in the wake.
I still sit in slightly terrified anticipation of who runs for 2008. Hillary is, I think, unelectable until at least 2012 (and by 2020 Chelsea might be ready and a better bet). Biden is as usual a wet fish. Obama isn't ready. Who else is there?
Hope you're having fun here! In that area, you *must* go to Samatha's on University Blvd. and have a pupusa. Just sayin...
While here in DC, which one might argue is a highly probable target, we just have jersey barriers and foreboding announcements and, yes, creepy posters.
Can't say I mind the lack of useless security measures here, but considering I spend 10+ hours a day sitting atop one of the busier Metro stations, I guess I'd appreciate some useful security.
