Words ending in -uous or -ious are still a bit hard for me to spell - I must concentrate. But I do not really understand why 'separate' is difficult to spell.

Then again, I am not a native speaker, so I do not count. I still cannot differentiate between 'license' and 'licence' and other pairs of that type, and the English way of double consonants confused my Russian spelling a bit (after writing 'corridor' too often in English it's hard to remember there are no double r's in the Russian version).

My Opera browser shows google text ads and the choice of ads gives me much amusement - this open thread page, for example, shows an ad for PublishAmerica. (and on some Guardian columns page the ad invited me to write thank-you letters to Blair for his support of US troops in Iraq)

Fabulous recs thread - unfortunately, it mostly made me go green with envy. I live in Russia and the access to the non-mainstream books (assuming that there is such a thing as mainstream SF/F) is not good. I'm still dreaming of getting my hands on any McKillip that isn't Riddlemaster of Hed.;(

I wanted to ask a question. I'm an English translator working mostly with SF/F books$ the last one I did was by Raymond Feist and now I'm starting on Mystic Warrior by Tracy and Laura Hickman. Has anyone here read it? Is it any good? Translating non-inspiring books requires especial fortitude of spirit and I'd like to be prepared (Feist nearly did me in)
