I can't tell you how many kids I personally know who put dried beans up their noses after reading about it in Little Women for the first time. We all do dumb stuff, but the sources of inspiration are various. Sometimes we hear about it from other kids or even grownups. Grrr....
That's too bad! I liked her books! I also knew her nephew Gary once upon a time. Sigh.

You know, I really didn't enjoy that ad. I know they cleaned up after themselves, but it just felt like wholesale vandalism to me. Could they completely clean up the trees and grass? There was probably a lot of residue for a long time afterwards. Bleah. What an unappealing mess.
He wrote one of my favorite novels of all time, The Dragon Waiting. Now he won't write us any more fine works. Sigh. Goodbye, dear man!
