Or one could say that it got old a long time ago.
Oh, you're such a Nervous Nellie. Nothing can go wrong. Nothing can go wrong. Nothing can go wrong. Noth
I'd be very nervous about getting familiar with a robot that could slap me.
It's not a myth, though. The problem is how to determine who's a likely voter. That's tricky in any election and seems to be more so in this one.
Lizzy at 17: Thanks. I used to keep thinking of new things to add to it, but I haven't for a while. I think it's finally complete and authoritative. :)
How do we know that bin Laden attacked us? Because the Bush Maladministration assures us it's so? Because bin Laden praised the 9/11 attacks but didn't take credit for them?
That he attacked us gets repeated often, but I have yet to see an explanation for assuming he was behind 9/11.
"Whine" is American? That's news to this immigrant.
When I read that they had put The Matrix at #1, I didn't bother reading the whole list.
Miriam! Matrilineal religious identification!
Dafydd not a Christ-killer, after all, because his mother isn't. Always remember that.
He prefers to think of himself as his mother's son rather than his father's son, or something like that, which is why he chose to identify with her Welsh ancestry.
Of course, none of that means anything. He's just an American.
Teresa (41), that's a good point, and I should have made it at the time. I think that's when I angrily stopped reading anything he posted, though. I should have stopped much earlier.
I'm not surprised. In retrospect, I can see that he was moving in that direction.
At times, when he was in his sane, calm mode (yes, he did have one!), he could be witty and engaging. I always hoped he would slip into that mode one day and not leave it.
On the other hand, in response to a page on my Web site lampooning Dubya, Dafydd referred to me as "behaving like a cement-headed traitor." I think that was the phrase.
One street in a city of five million ...
Now we know where the surge needs to go: into Haifa Street. Once we have that fully under control, and have solved the problem of getting helicopters in and out of there safely, we can send in additional troops to expand the area under control until the entire city has been pacified.
That should take no more than three million men and ten years. We can do it.
He fell asleep reading Camus, natch.
Oh, that's good!
Americablog has an interesting post today that argues that there are two videos, and the second one is of professional quality, not something from a cellphone.
David Dvorkin, you have inadvertently duplicated a message style and format used by comment spammers.
Oops. Sorry. My posts will look like this, from now on.
Not that they'll all start with apologies!
Well, I hope not.
Are the professionals trying to remind tha amateurs about logistics?
Of course I have a blog
At some point over the past few years we seem to have left our good, green earth and landed on a strange planet where everything is more than slightly bizarre.
That's a common experience as we get older. But normally it applies to clothing and music and so on, and it usually happens incrementally, so that one wakes up one day and realizes that one has become an alien visitor.
What's so depressing in this case is that it's not a matter of kids listening to horrible noise they call music but of adults listening to the top figures in their government espousing grotesque and un-American policies, and those adults nod and call the opposition unpatriotic. Now, that's bizarre.
Of course I have a blog
