#17: It's easy, really.
Several of my friends have babies and "burping" in my normal context just wasn't translating as something useful in the horrible sucking chest wound context. Thank you for clarifying.
A timid, Piglet-like question: how does one burp a wound?
I'm sure I don't really want to know the answer.
The American Red Cross has emergency kits on sale here.
Also, some really cool t-shirts.
Fuses the power of the Web? Has "fuse" become one of those words like "synergy" that you use to suggest that something exciting and profitable is going to happen as a result of your proposal, only you have no idea how it's actually supposed to work?
It's the Underpants Gnomes School of Business Planning:
Step 1. Collect fan fiction.
Step 2. ...
Step 3. PROFIT!
Kathryn from Sunnyvale, #9: Thank you!
If only I'd known about those programs earlier in my graduate school career.
While I always wear my seatbelt, my truck is infamous for amount of stuff I shove into the passenger seat. I'm cleaning it out tonight.
Needs more dragons.
And ninjas.
Mary Frances #54: I felt the same way the first time I read The Blue Sword. Not only is the main character a girl, but she's carefully described as not pretty and she stays not pretty throughout the book. I first read it when I was a pudgy twelve year old. Twenty-ish years later, it's still as comforting as a hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Also, it has horses and big cats, always a plus.
It snowed in Tucson last night. As of 8:22 am, there's an inch or so on the ground.
Due to a misunderstanding, I was recently unfindable by friends for a couple of hours. They called everyone in our circle and were contemplating calling my dad when we got in contact.
As a single woman living alone, it is huge relief to know that, if I go missing, someone will come looking for me.
I have consistently voted for McCain in the senate races since I reached voting age.
Sometime during the coverage of Hurricane Katrina, I came across a lovely picture of the senator with President Bush holding McCain's birthday cake. It was taken at Luke Air Force Base on 08/29/05. I'm not sure of the time, but I think it was late morning.
He lost my vote forever that day. I'm sorry it took so long.
I always thought that "the prudent use of violence" involved hitting my pillow or playing WoW for a couple of hours. Boy, I was wrong.
Also, there's a special place in hell for those who withhold water in a desert.
I have before never voted for a straight party ticket. I'm doing it today.
Republican Party, I'm done with you.
I've been wondering that all week.

I haven't read it yet. I'm not sure my blood pressure can stand it. However, I can't help but notice that in the synopsis for part 2, they estimated that approx. 100,000 people wouldn't have the transportation to evacuate.
I would like to thank Mr. Brown for taking on the role of this scandal's Disposable Underling with such gusto. Normally, I feel a tiny twinge of sympathy for the person who’s chosen. Given the level of competency and empathy the gentleman has shown so far, this time I’m not having that problem.
