Take MKK seriously. As soon as I got home from work today I did my nominating ballot. I really do not like server crashes, and am quite willing to be early and not get caught.

#33 ema -- was just telling someone that when Professor Gunn had a student from Argentina, I took her out at night and showed her the Big Dipper. If I went there I'd have to go out and see the Southern Cross myself.

I put it on my desktop. Astronomical pics are the ones I like best for the computer at rest.

So, Paula, you think that fat old white ladies date Arab firebrands? All of them? A large percentage? What?

Actually, being a middle aged or old white woman does nothing except make you the token "we aren't profiling" victim. I was searched 3 or 4 times on a trip to Portland. Old fat white lady, check -- frail man in a suit on oxygen, check -- blonde young man, check -- Newt Gingrich, check! Makes me almost think that profiling is the way to go. I mean, how many fat old white ladies have hijacked a plane recently -- like in the last 40 years?

Heh. Just try to buy red shoes right now. There aren't any.

Putrid Pink seems to be the Color of the Moment, no matter what they say about Bijoux Red.

Yes, I see not only pictures when I read, but pictures that have color and motion.

I think that theory says that this phenomenon kicks in when one is reading at 900 words per minute or over.

This readily explains why text books do not yield pictures.

Someone mentioned the pigherds of Hel? Oh yes, the old woman with a brown wrinkly complexion sitting on a log and smoking a pipe -- but how many years ago did I read that? Over 10? Over 20? Never mind. I still see it.

Posted on entry Dang! Somebody went and actually read the book! ::: September 05, 2003, 12:09 PM:
Heh. On the way to WorldCon, I forgot to grab my current book, so the first night enroute I was forced into the Gideon Bible for printed material. My roommate will attest that the same notion -- that the rich have no worth in God's eyes per se -- was something I found repeated over and over. There would be a statement about virtue, and then a smack at the rich.

That plus all the old psalms from childhood made an interesting evening of reading.
