This past New Year's, reunited with friends whom I hadn't seen in
literally years, we all agreed that we (as individuals,
collectively and globally) all deserved a better year.
I'm glad that you're feeling better physically. Nothing is more
bewildering than having your own autonomic functioning go on the
fritz.
I know it's not my place to offer advice to a total stranger. That
said, here goes. Let it go. Your analysis of the critical email was
completely accurate, and I hope it was cathartic.
And yes, I know that's easier said than done. A couple of years
ago, I had a run-in with a psycho doctor at Stanford Medical
Center. She insisted that I was "morbidly obese", needed to lose
"at least 100 pounds," and that my ideal body weight was 130
pounds. I'm 6' and weigh 230. But, I still get angry when I think
of this incident. (Needless to say, I raised a stink and found a
better doctor who has nothing to do with Stanford.)
By the way, you dealt with Yngve in an extraordinarily even-handed
way.
