Xopher @16: Meanwhile, I don't know what's keeping New Jersey. We got our blue-ribbon panel report on the failure of Civil Unions back a long time ago.

According to the Star-Ledger (article here), there seems to be some push in that direction. Nothing imminent, unfortunately.

Chris @ 24: Only on the IRT cars, the IND/BMT have a different model of rolling stock....

Ahh, I beg to differ. As I was waiting (and waiting) for a train in the 7th & 53rd St. IND station just a couple of hours ago, I heard those very notes coming from several IND trains.

Michael @ #18, I remember that...it was a coordinated assault on Remarq. There was much merrymaking and tales of html boobytrapping. Reps from Remarq made it clear they didn't understand where they'd gone wrong. I don't know whatever happened to them (reps or company).

Thank you very much. I had no idea. Our hero, indeed. (At the time, I lived about twenty miles from Sikorsky's main plant, which I imagine would've been a target... ::shudder::)

Teresa (or anyone else who might know), where in NYC might I find confectionery-grade candied fruits and peels? I abhor that stuff in the plastic tubs, and even New York Cake Supply only seems to sell that. Ditto the Garden of Eden across from the Malibu. I think I want to make my Stollen this year, and it would be so nice to use good stuff!

and-they-ran-the-picture-sideways.

Hm, the copy I got didn't have any sideways pictures. Want me to save it? (Let's just hope Himself didn't take down the recycling.)

Is Panix broken again, or is it just me?

NYC songs--well, everyone else already mentioned most of the ones I was thinking of, but I haven't seen Lenny Kravitz's "Mr. Cab Driver" mentioned yet. IIRC, the only NYC-specific mention in it is something along the lines of "he thinks we're all 165ers", referring to cabbies passing by black men because they fear they'll have to take them to bad neighbourhoods. W165th has been getting better, though (again, IIRC).

Oh yeah, and Bernstein's "Times Square" from "On the Town" is just plain great.

Teresa, are you at the office today? If so, and you're going to be there between 5-5:30, I could bring you some acetaminophen with codeine, if that's something that could help. I happen to have a bottle of it here, and I need to be kind of near there at 5:30, so I could stop on by. Let me know!

Since there were many fans of Oolong here, I figured you'd want to know that last week his human added new pictures of Yuebing (the new bunny) to his page.

(Because some days we just really need to look at cute bunny pictures.)
