Thanks for these updates. I'm keeping Scraps and Velma in my thoughts.
Colds suck. Feel better, dude.
Re Echinacea, actually I read about at least one credible one that has found a statistically significant benefit to taking it.
Another thing that works well for colds is zinc lozenges. Cold Eze is what I use. Cuts duration in half, and greatly reduces the congestion and achiness. Doesn't touch the fever, but since that normally goes away in a day or so, it's not such a big deal to me.
Thanks for the photos, P&T. Glad to see Scraps having a good time with his friends. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be not to have many words, as expressive as he has always been.
Thanks for these updates, Velma. They're appreciated.
Velma, thanks for these periodic updates. They're appreciated. Sending positive thought waves your way.
Arrrrgggh! This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
For the first time my excitement outpaces my fear.
Lizzy: "that." :)
I'm still here, too, and checking in often. Sounds like many good bits of news -- thanks to Velma and Elise for keeping us apprised! I wish I could be there to help.
Elise, the next time you see him, could you please let him know Steve and I are thinking of him with lots of love? I wish I could help out. Scraps is one of my favorite people and I can only imagine how frustrating and frightening all this must be for him.
Sorry -- missed that. Thanks, Beth.
Velma, thanks for these updates! Steve and I have been very worried. I so wish we could be there to lend a hand.
Someone upstream suggested a Ouija board, to make communication easier for him. Can we send one? Would that be a help?
Just checking in -- Steve and I are keeping Scraps and Velma in our thoughts. Love you guys.
Oh, God. I am freaked.
I don't have a spare iPod -- is there anything else we can do to help?
Keep us posted, Teresa. Thank you.
(And speaking of scary cardiovascular incidents, are you doing OK?)
Jim, that was moving, funny, and tells us so much about Brian in so few words. Thanks for sharing it.
When I go, I hope to have a friend as gifted and loving as you to write my eulogy.
This is very sad. I just recalled that while at Warner, he had nearly bought a novel of mine, a few years before I was published by Tor. I spoke to him a couple of times and always found him to be funny, intelligent, and a pleasure to talk to.
My deepest sympathies go to all those who are close to him. This is a real shock.
