I did a home-made computer card which amused my mother highly, this year. She came to church with me for Pentacost service, along with other family members. In the evening, our priest was formally installed, after a year's service with us...as she is a mother herself, that seemed fitting to me.
I think I need to hug my mom extra tomorrow, though--she didn't have to cook or clean on Mothers' Day, but I also forgot to pay her much special attention on the actual day (the card was early). I shall reform, and go to art class with her on Tuesday too--that is always a special event we share.
Abi: teh win.
Patrick: teh lucky.
Me: teh very, very, very jealous, especially since my sister's grade 12
class just got back from a trip to London, Paris, and Normandy. And now
this! *sigh*
The "Paradise" picture is going on my desktop to drool over.
There was, as long ago as the 2004 election campaign, copious amounts of Kerry/Edwards fanfiction. In fact, the LiveJournal group johnxjohn was host to a series, Kerry Takes Washington, set in the aftermath of the election, which featured not only John Kerry/John Edwards, but Teresa Heinz Kerry/Elizabeth Edwards, cookies, and parodies of several famous political and media figures. All entirely PG rated, and quite funny--kept some of us from going entirely mad, back then when we weren't at all sure we'd get Speaker Pelosi in two years (and even if we had known that for a fact, there was TWO YEARS to wait).
I also think your lefthand column is too wide, making the center column (where all the interesting stuff is) too narrow on my typical window size.
Same for me. I'm using a 800x600 screensize at the moment, so that may make a difference. Using the Opera browser (6.01) on Windows 98. Will have to check with the Safari/Mac combo later.
Anyway--looks good other than the small size of the center column. Yay!
Yes, Tashlan is one of your better refs, Bellatrys. :) (Even better since even the hate-LOTR-cuz-it's-magical people often have read Narnia.)
Ahh, but "reactionary" was what they called people who were against the communist regimes in Russia and China--including many Christians and political prisoners. Might not be seen as a bad thing to be called by some...
Love the term "Sinister Buttocks" for those books, though. They cause mental pain.
Am rather partial to Bellatrys's "apocalyptic morons" for the premillenial dispensationalists or whatever the technical name is. Need something like that for the current pro-Bush Xtian bloc.
