Just in the last couple of days there's been a bit of a media flap
in Australia about "triple-0 taxis". Apparently pensioners, who
don't get billed for their ambulance rides, are calling in with
chest pains and so forth, riding the ambulance in to the hospital,
then telling the paramedics they feel much better now and popping
out the door to get their groceries at the shopping district just
over the road from the hospital.
I know I should Disapprove of this (assuming it's a genuine problem
and not just one or two incidents combined with a slow day at
Murdoch Towers), but I couldn't help just a little chuckle when I
read the story.
