I met Brian back in 1984 when I chaired Conquest. He came to KC and
met all of the authors, including C.J. Cherryh, who definitely
wanted to meet. He eventually published 18 books from those
introductions. He became a good friend and we would chat about once
a week. He returned for many years until he moved to TSR. At one
point he confided to me that his two favorite conventions were
Conquest and Archon because the fans were so easy going. He used to
send me and another friend Joan so many books, that we refered to
him as the "uncle Brian" book club. He will be severly missed. He
was a very good person.
