I don't think any words that I can write will do justice to what is in my heart right now. I am so hopeful, even with the huge mess that is our world and our nation right now.

Please, dear God, make the scary bad man go to JAIL!

(It's not going to happen, but still, I can dream, can't I?)

I am so proud, so happy, so freaking overwhelmed that I keep pinching myself to know that Obama's win is real and not a dream.

Now I just need Prop.8 here in California to lose.
Posted on entry The Blue Benn ::: October 14, 2008, 06:21 PM:
Oh, the Blue Benn! I went to Bennington College and the Blue Benn was my special breakfast treat to myself, especially during the college's field work term. I stayed in Bennington during the winter break and going to the Blue Benn cheered me up when the snow got to me. (I was a transplanted Texan and so I wasn't used to the snow.)

I was in Bennington VERY briefly this summer. I didn't have time to stop at the Blue Benn. I wish I had timed things better and been able to have lunch there.

Oh. My. God.

Why the HELL is this not a national story?

I bet $100 this is NOT a problem for McCain--I'm sure everyone who goes into one of his events is fully searched.

I can't even wrap my head around the sheer wrongness of the Secret Service not protecting Obama and Clinton properly.
Posted on entry Jon Singer's Turkey Algorithm, 2007 ::: November 22, 2007, 11:51 PM:
We had a quiet Thanksgiving. Because there are three of us (two adults and one very small person) I roasted a chicken instead of a turkey. Stuffed it herbs, leeks, garlic, lemon, olive oil and butter. Did a pumpkin-sweet potato bake, fired up some instant mashed potatoes, made sage and garlic stuffing, fixed some peas (as the very small person loves peas).

Forgot to put out the cranberries, but that's not a big deal as I am only one who eats them.

I was very thankful not to have been traveling. It's nice to be home.

Great advice. I have to say, right after I read your post, I called my doctor to get flu shots for our two year old daughter, my husband and myself, only to be told that they'll have flu shots in November.

It makes me wonder if there aren't enough flu shots for smaller doctor's offices to get some in before flu season really starts. And why.

I swear, unless I can find someplace else that will do it, we're showing up first thing in the morning on Nov. 1st.
