Is "Osirus" a Romanized spelling of Osiris, or does someone need a coffee infusion?
Patrick at #9: Okay, I guess it *is* a small world after all. I don't normally look at a book's editor, but maybe I need to start.
BTW -- I've only posted here a couple of times, and with little more content than the much-belittled "me too" and "ditto", but this truly is a lovely site. Thanks to all of you for bringing it into the world.
I'm not eligible to vote, but I quite liked Sandra McDonald's "The Outback Stars".
I have also wondered whether the author is any relation to Jim of Making Light, but the spelling reference above disabuses me. I guess the SF world is small, but not *that* small.
There was a novel published in 2002 about the Darien expedition. I read about half of it before being distracted by life and other trivia.
Reminds me of the Calvin and Hobbes comics where Calvin pretends to be a zombie, staggering around with his tongue out. And I think there's one where he and Hobbes imitate each other, as in "You're like this: GAK" "No, you're like this: GAWK" with the same tongue action.
So has anyone seen the new Matt Damon holiday movie Bourne Is the King of Israel?
Ariel @9,
Sorry, I think you misunderstood me.
I'm not talking about giving aid and then claiming it's okay because they are not terrorists.
I'm talking about doing exactly one thing: publicly stating that Organization X, which has been designated a terrorist organization by the government, is *not* a terrorist organization. Nothing else, just that single statement.
Dena Shunra @ 7,
That's what I was thinking, too. Wonderful way to shut down the debate, huh?
Next stop, thought crimes.
Would you be guilty of aiding the organization in question if you claimed that it was not really a terrorist organization?
