I went to a Quaker school in Philadelphia. In seventh grade, we had
an actor come in and read, dramatically, this very sermon. And I
can say that as an impressionable twelve-year-old, it scared the
shit out of me. It was great!
I had planned to read (or, more likely, ask a particularly dramatic
friend [1] to read) the sermon at Milk and Cookies, a gathering of
friends who read stories and essays out loud.
