#320: I hope Spolsky chooses to comment on this.
Firing the poor schmuck who pressed the wrong button (as I predicted way back in comment #20) isn't going to make Amazon's problems - both internal design and public relations - go away. I would hope that they are intelligent enough to realize that but still fear that they are not.
#44, etc: Vecna Inc?
#31: Fans of the song may appreciate Kermit the Frog's cover.
#831: "Streets of Ashkelon" by Harry Harrison
#683: Kumar's character in House (who was abruptly killed off last night) "enjoyed science fiction and was a frequent participant in the Clarion Science Fiction Workshops", according to the Fox website here.

#594: So, this man, drunkenly riding a bar stool, hit himself with the harpoon he had aimed at the alligator?
Now, some 25 years later, I just bought an effing terabyte drive, seven orders of magnitude larger than those early floppy disks. For $120.
They're $95 in Boston this week.
In college, I remember everyone being awed by my friend's Apple II with 48K memory, a black-and-green monitor, and two floppy drives. Cost: $2500.
(Said friend wrote a game called Wizardry on it, which made a little money ... )
#121: Times are tough all over.
If this is the same game, there was some discussion about it on Boston area blogs this week. Seems people are having fun trashing the subway system.

This book needs to be translated into Lolcat.
I don't know what one can do when buying computer products, since just about all of them are made in Taiwan anyway; but better my local dealer than Mikey Dell, I guess.
I'd be happy to shop on my local Main Street, but even its pawn shops are now closing.
#423: The "high traffic blog" mentioned in the spam letter is Making Light.
The spam is from "Howard Duckworth".
I guess he thinks I'm trapped in a blog I never made.
#421: I got one too. I'm thinking about taking the money.
