@42: I saw that lobster costume on Friday, on a baby who was with two parents dressed as chefs. Three totally clean-cut, non-gory Halloween costumes made one sick joke. I thought it was great.

Here's a really childish one:

What do monsters like to eat?
(sinister voice): THIIINGS.

And what do monsters like to drink?
Coke, because THIIIINGS go better with Coke.

I don't know if anyone's interested, but here's the clemency hearing for a guy who was convicted under a three-strikes law here. http://tvw.org/media/MediaPlayer.cfm?evid=2009060050B&TYPE=V&bhcp=1

His "third strike" involved attempting to steal a wallet (a crime that these days would no longer count for a third strike at all). The owner of the wallet was completely appalled at the sentence. See http://convictnews.com/archives/526

As far as I know, the majority of publishers do use Tracked Changes in Word for editing and proofreading. I do occasionally hear of those who want you to work on InDesign files or PDFs.

"If that is what I think it is, it's about the name of the company, and what you'll see of its name on a shirt when you wear an open jacket over it."

Okay, I'm dying of curiosity here. Can someone post the name ROT-13'd or something?

The "folk community" things above made me blink -- for a moment I was worried that all of my beloved "deedle, deedle, this way, deedle deedle that way" friends were being maligned as fascists!

I don't suppose any of you know the book _Aggie, Maggie, and Tish_?

Run by Manicheanism -- I like it. That's the sound some old cars make when you're trying to start them; they say "manichean, manichean" over and over again, very fast.
