The inference that we can't say what exactly was in the settlement
is correct. We can't. Sorry. I know that Enquiring Minds Want to
Know.
As a general rule, when a plaintiff wins on appeal and the matter
settles before trial, the appellate decision has frightened (some
part of) the defendant. If it's just a matter of ruling on
admissibility of some piece of evidence, the case usually gets
retried (unless that was THE critical piece of evidence). Our
appeal was decided on a matter of law. Further than that I cannot
say. At least not here.
