Colour matching (and hyperspectral effects) do matter for
camouflage, but they're not the only elements. You don't have to
match either the precise colour or the shape of the leaves behind
you to look like something with leaves.
Infra-red already has to be taken into account. Green leaves
reflect a lot. Most green paints don't. And seeing infra-red on the
battlefield is an old technology.
