Rereading "The Years of Salt and Rice", Kim Stanley Robinson, and trying to get to Lakoff's "Don't Think of an Elephant". Carrying also "Getting Things Done", but do not have time to read it.
What else? Abstruse math is sitting on my shelf, the aptly named "Coping with Chaos", and soon to read "Ecotourism". That is all.

You have just educated me! I am adding BK Sunset to my list of plausible spaces.
And congratulations on moving to a much more appealing environment!

Despite what Jeremy says, in his very judicious and proper tone, I do insist and concur with Avram and others: this is evolution in the best sense:
spambots create garbled test, which we delete.
More spambots come, v1.2, that create slightly less garbled test and on-topic posts. We delete.
Spambots v3.4 attack with their witty and accurate vision of the blogosphere, having traversed it all, and are able to debate our points and make a coherent argument.
We are deleted.

The issue here is not the application of the law or the correct jurisdiction. I am sure that all involved acted within their limits.

The really nefarious aspect of this event is that they only conformed to the most stringent interpretations of the law, without bothering to acknowledge the difference between an entertainer and a possible terrorist.

These blanket interpretations of the law not only affect foreigners, but are a sad symptom of the disregard that this administration has for the individual: the state becomes paramount, and all other considerations fall aside. And that is when abuses occur.

Ferrer is not the one being kept from coming into the USA. It is us, the ones that are not allowed to go outside.
