No one has said anything about socks yet. I can shorten jeans. I can make my own shirts. I can wail at the horrible badness of bra shopping but occassionally find some that fit and are actually cotton. Socks I can do nothing about. I generally wear a size 6 1/2 sneaker and like my socks to be mostly cotton and to fit a bit tightly. Women's 'small' is too large for me. Youth's size 'large' is too small.

I can't remember the last time I went clothing shopping for myself and didn't want to come home in tears.

Xopher,
Rayon is indeed wood. Well, to be specific, it is cellulose (main source: wood) that is chemically purified and spun into fibers. It's a rather neat process, but that's about all I remember of it. I haven't had anything to do with my BS in Wood Science since they day they handed me a diploma and I swore I wasn't going back to school again.

Pamela,

Sorry it took so long for a reply; I only check here once a day or so.

I am currently a wage slave for Waldenbooks (owned by Border's). We do returns once a month. Given, we can do this because we are a mall front store and not a super-standalone-monstrosity of a warehouse bookstore (excuse me, my envy is showing through...) so it's not so huge a problem to scan every book in the store once a month.

What is frustrating is returning books on Monday and seeing them in the shipment on Thursday. I really wonder how much money the company is throwing away on just moving books around.
