The name Gruaniad comes from the time many years ago when the
name of the paper was mis-spelt on the top of one of the
pages.
As far as I know they never went that far, it was just what people
joked would be next given the quality of their proofreading. I
remember they once rendered the prime minister John Major as John
Mayor, which suggests that perhaps they do occasionally use spell
checkers.
