Not a religious conservative here, and yes, the ones I've spoken
with who are very anti-abortion do. Err, I suppose if we're being
PC here, that would be pro-life.
I can understand their viewpoint: saying "I don't personally
believe in abortion, but do not feel I have the right to force my
personal beliefs on others" is the same -- to them -- as saying "I
don't personally believe in murder, but do not feel I have the
right to force my personal beliefs on others".
This should not, however, be confused with my viewpoint.
