I hold that marriage is a social institution the primary purpose
of which is to provide the means to bring up the offspring of the
sexual relationship which it includes. If that is true, then
homosexual relationships cannot be marriages.
If that is your belief, then you would have to classify a large
number of unions between one man and one woman as "not-marriages"
because the couple either cannot or chooses not to bear children.
Is that indeed what you believe?
