I'm Canadian, living in the US. I heard about this this morning and
laughed...
Most Canadians are polite and politically apathetic. The idea of a
head of state being booed seems so...dirty. That is, if it was
anyone else. I do believe Bush would have been booed, and not just
for the issues Americans assume.
Bush represents the epitome of the stereotypical dumb-but-loud Yank
that Canadians mutter about on a regular basis. He's ignorant of
world politics. He's arrogant and mean. He's a blowhard. He forces
his religion onto others. He stomps over anyone who disagrees with
him - even people who would otherwise be on his side.
Nobody likes being confronted with what should be an untrue
stereotype.
