Thank you, so much, for posting that.

They deserve the goddamned Pulitzer, is what I think.

I don't know if this happens to other people, but frequently when I am linked to Making Light or post a comment and then go back to the thread I was reading, Firefox just keeps loading the page which is blank except for plain black text on a white background which reads

"You need this!
Affordable, delectable jewelry that you can wear anywhere. Buttons and magnets with new views. All in one store.

Does this ever happen to anyone else or is it Just Me?

This is awfully late to the party, but I remember my parents buying and reading Ted Hughes children's books to me, The Iron Man among them. More of my British friends know of his writing for children and nonfiction writing about poetry, due to books like Poetry in the Making and his BBC programs, I think, while my American friends tend to encounter him in poetry survey course ("The Thought-Fox" and so on) (usually as "Sylvia Plath's husband"). It seems always a bit of a shock for both audiences when they read work intended for the other.

I'd also have to agree with Patrick and the comment that the text is too small, and I also don't like reading large amounts of text in a sans-serif font. As someone with relatively bad eyesight, but better than 20/20 with glasses, who reads a lot of onscreen text, I generally prefer slightly larger type. The black type on a grey background doesn't bother me, though.

The content is so good, though, I put up with reading smaller-than-usual type when I might not regularly.

What gets me about a lot of those highly publicized multimillion-dollar jury verdicts is how many of them are reduced on appeal -- quite a bit (T links to one of the articles which points out that the judge in the McDonald's coffee case reduced the amount to less than $500,000 and the elderly woman settled for even less). But the big "going after the system" verdicts get publicized and picked up by the media, while the readjustments don't.

retro-reflectum

That....is just an entirely unfortunate combination of syllables.
