Make sure you use brown sugar in the caipirinhas. Not white. Very
important. I prefer crushed ice, too. I learned how to make this
quintessential Brazilian drink in Germany (natch), using vodka
rather than cachaça--a practice considered barbaric by the
drink's inventors. Done properly, caipirinhas will knock you over
like a wolfhound puppy at walkies time, and I should know.
