Having spent a number of years of my misspent youth deep in the trenches of screamy-teenaged-girl fandom, I have to say that it's hilarious how much screamy-teenaged-girl rhetorical tactics resemble the tactics of this fellow.
Any moment now, he will slag someone as "just like those beeyotches in highschool I hated so much", and the invocation of Snacky's Law will be complete.
Glad to know all that brain-fried USENET postings of my college years were not a total waste.
To my shame and sorrow, I cannot think up a Yankees joke suitable for such a mixed metaphor. But I know a Yankees joke is yearning to be made at a time like this.
Being as I am a Red Sox fan, I can't help but paraphrase Bart Giamatti on the subject of failure:
"Fenway Park is the place to understand Calvinism in America, to learn that people sometimes fail and that failure can build character."
Next time elections roll around, we'll be quite the bunch of characters.
You know not to trust anybody who would start a socio-political discussion with the ignorant misuse of an idiom:
If you cared about your well-fare, you towed the line or died.
Note to world: You do not "tow the line" as in Saddam Hussein the swordfisherman in a trawler; you "toe the line" as in Saddam Hussein as the worst gym coach in the world making you do sprints down a basketball court.
