They're showing previews in selected cities.
One of those cities is Austin, which is only four hours from Dallas, where I am.
My friend Gregg got tickets for the Austin preview. And he won't share.
I hate him.
Benedict, hell. He's Palpatine I.
Oh, that's good.
Granted, Ratzinger wasn't the most forward-thinking choice in the College of Cardinals. But actions that he could take as the Dean of the College (such as the Kerry contretemps) aren't necessarily going to be possible now that he's pope -- he can't pass the buck upstairs anymore.
And he's also the oldest pope to be elected in the last century -- hopefully this means that the Catholic Church just wants to consolidate for the next couple of years or so.
So THAT'S the Flatiron Building! I've walked past it a number on times when I was in New York, but I never matched the architecture to the name.
It's truly nifty that you were able to grab parts of the columns -- and there's more in a dumpster? Hmm, wonder if I could convince the boss that I need to visit the NY office. . .
In a rather dark sort of way, it's pleasant to find people who have the "you have to kiss editors' asses in order to get published" mindset. When they piss off the editors with their slurping, their MS goes in the round file, and there's one less person ahead of me in the slush pile.
Well, I've twirled my feet, crossed my fingers and twiddled them around my ears, and now my coworkers are convinced that they need to stay far, far away from me. Which is fine -- lets me get that much more work done.
Interesting things, neural connections.
