Speaking of Canada, I will be leaving my Toronto home in six weeks for a two year teaching engagement in Ghana. Has anyone here ever been to Ghana? Any interesting stories you'd like to tell?

I was just about to begin my quest for an agent before I got the job (if any of you read Miss Snark...that was me). Sigh.

Having lived in China for a few years, I'm not sure that all of those photos are from Guilin. Considering some of the ethnic garb that they're wearing in certain photos, I think some of them are from southwest China.

However, the majority of them are from Guilin. It really is a beautiful place. When we went, the fog was hanging over the top of the moutains and it looked like some of the scroll paintings that one sees all over the markets.

As an interesting sidenote, Guilin was the only place we were ever pickpocketed in the entire time that we lived there.

Hey Stefan,
You're absolutely right about the last episode. My wife and I never bought it that Lindsey would go off to follow the Dead. It just wasn't in her personality to do such a thing (at least in our opinion).

That, coupled with the fact that I loathe the Dead, left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

You're right about Undeclared. It didn't really have focus, although it was a pretty good show. There were some classics there, but some were terrible. Speaking of weird subcultures, did you see the unaired episode where one of the characters finds God? It was good.

You realize with statements like:

But what matter age, or bare feet, when you have something to blow up?

you've just tagged us to be tracked by the NSA. Nevertheless, I will continue reading as an act of defiance against Big Brother.

Posted on entry Pat Robertson preaches gross heresy (again) ::: November 14, 2005, 05:38 PM:
Is Pat Robertson even worthy of anyone's comments? I mean, really...he only has an audience of millions, his own television station, books, radio shows, and a fanatical, loyal following who would do anything he asked because "God" told them to...

...Wait, scratch everything I just said. BURN HIM!!

That's a good question, John. I've been wondering whether or not this would be an effective means of promoting your book or whether it was just a waste of time. I've thought about taking some of my long abandoned projects and creating podcasts based upon them. I love the concept of a serialized podcast of my material.

This is the greatest story I've ever seen posted on Making Light. Are we sure this wasn't some sort of promotional tie-in to "War of the Worlds"? Is that "red tide" going to form into some kind of "red plant"?

Hey, does anybody here own a Roomba? I'm dying to get one of those, but I'm scared. Literally. So, I need some opinions.

Looks good from this end, although the colors on the top bar make my eyes hurt.

And yes, I'm just posting right now to say that I was one of the first five hundred to post on the new and improved "Making Electrolite" site. I'm so trendy.

How about a book called The Obsessively Optimistic Guide to Getting Published in the Face of a Wall of Naysayers?

Sorry, I just have to spread the sunshine, because we haven't had any in Ontario in months.

I've found that a nice, cooked hamster with hot Chinese mustard sauce and 24 ounces of Mad Dog 20/20 will usually do the trick for whatever trips me up.

Make sure to get rid of the fur before you cook it or you'll be picking it out of your teeth for weeks.
