Oh! Cliff @74, what an utterly fabulous idea. It would probably kill me to eat a piece, but it's the perfect refreshment for an Inauguration Party.
Happy New Year! Let's hope 2009 turns out as well as we hope it will.
That is heart-warming and encouraging. Scraps looks happy in the photos, and that's a good thing. Thanks for the pix!
Poor child. Fortunately, Jesus is not an unusual name.
Happy Boxing Day, dear friends. We had a quiet and at-home Christmas. Today, it's raining, which is a blessing in the desert.
So sorry! I hope that a peaceful holiday under the covers brings better health. Don't forget the liberal application of hot booze.
People planning to fly out of PDX or SEA this week should double check with their airlines before trying to get to the airport. Friends planning to be here for Christmas have had to cancel their plans. flights canceled on Saturday, and Sunday, and they were told that there was absolutely no chance of getting a flight before Friday.
Awesome. You got the sound balanced much better.
This carnivore prefers that her meat come from animals that have been humanely raised and slaughtered. What's so hard to understand about that?
Sometimes I think that the people who don't are people who feel guilty about eating meat -- who don't want to know where it comes from, and who would prefer that the production be kept hidden, under cover, and as far away from them as possible.
I voted early in Arizona, and actually had to wait 10 minutes.
But yesterday on my flight home from Calgary I convinced an "undecided" voter who was leaning McCain to vote for Obama. She has a son in Iraq, and I talked to her about how impulsive McCain is, how he likes to gamble, and how dangerous that could be in a commander who had no one above him.
That got to her.
Yaay! Such good news.

What I want to read is that Scraps is safely ensconced at Rusk. Fingers crossed!
oh dear. Velma, can you enlist the hospital social worker to help you here? It seems to me that the Rusk paperwork probably hasn't gotten to the Hospital administration office.
Sarah Palin is in a Spiritual Warfare Prayer Group, you know.
This election is being fought on all the astral planes.
Thanks, Elise, that's an excellent report! Very cheering progress. And I'm glad you and Velma had some R&R.
Fingers toes eyes crossed.
I expect that most patients' families would not be happy to hear that their loved one is to be a lab rat. We are an unusual bunch in that regard.
