I still remember being stared at in astonishment by teenagers. What did I do that was so amazing?
I gave honest answers to their questions.
abi@#60: The phone book is fine if you're at home where the phone book is, or the library has the phone book you want (they didn't) or you're living twenty years ago when payphones had phone books. Otherwise, not so much :).
Oh yeah, I remember calling one of these "services" from a payphone. They took all my money then couldn't find the number. Now if only I'd had my iPhone with me, I could have looked the number up on the web...for free.
I was surprised by the idea that Morris is nearly extinct, too. It certainly didn't look in any danger at the last festival I was at!
Nothing wrong with a better sheep. Warmth and well-feelings to you :).
Lee #67, you do know the knife-thrower doesn't actually throw the knives, right?
I was hoping Sarge would come back to be baited some more. Does that make me a Dark Side Photon?
Eh, whether he gets released or not is one thing--but he should get due process. That way we could still pretend that human rights were what this war was really about.
Primitive, eh? I guess you heard that rumour that they keep their coal in the bath, too.
I often get ear infections with flu, too. Heck, I get ear infections just thinking about them.
Uhoh.
I remember some years ago walking into my workplace after a few days off and encountering a staff member on the way to the office who complained that she and all our colleagues had been suffering from headaches. This was at a time when the heating in the building wasn't working and they'd been given a paraffin (kerosene) stove.
When I went into the office proper, I reeled back and then rushed around opening windows. The stink of paraffin fumes was incredible. It's one thing to keep warm, quite another to sit there poisoning yourself and wondering why your body is complaining....
I've had CO poisoning. Not Fun.
The maggie thatcher parasite managed to get everyone but Madagascar. They must have precogs.
Yeah, s'weird how countries get all panicked over a non-lethal, symptomless virus. Almost like they had inside knowledge....
Thank you Heather @115! That makes a lot more sense than I did :D.
are paragraphs?
meh
You are welcome, Ce'ine, but so would paragraphs :).
Conflation is when you combine two things into one. So the suggestion is that someone somewhere thinks "elect" and "elected" are the same thing--that if you are elected, you are one of the elect.
Eh.
This isn't my election, nor is it my fight, but my heart/conscience/call-it-what-you-will wouldn't let me vote Labour after Tony Blair said a vote for them would indicate support for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
No.Wars.
Eh, I was just on YouTube today, and amazed by the inanity of the comments. Nice when a problem and a solution coincide so neatly!
