The Second Battle of Ypres where the Canadians withstood 16 days of chlorine gas attacks.
There are 170 military cemeteries located in and around Ypres.
No, but it can be a complacent thing.
A smug thing.
And therefore a dangerous thing.
I live in Canada.
In Canada we hijack a bus.
In Canada we blow up a wheelchair ramp, not a government building.
It's quiet here.

I'm another relative, if they ever sort out the White-Fuller thing. Peregrine White, born as the ship dropped anchor in that lonely bay. Named Peregrine because he was a "stranger in a strange land". I feel the same, often.
And there was Mary Dyer who was hanged on Boston Common in 1660 because of her religious beliefs.

Just stumbled upon it while searching.
Two points.
1. Publishing is not a charity.
2. SASE - for out of country writers, what is wrong with e-mail for acknowledgement of a submission and for a rejection?
Seems to me would save a publishers time/envelope stuffing if the writer indicates willingness.
