    She died of dropsy. The Nickerson Family (citation details below) gives her death as 1867 in Clark's Harbour, Nova Scotia, daughter of Edward Burke and Nora James, but the same book also notes that Shelburne County vital records have her dying 5 Oct 1870, daughter of Thomas Burke and Nora James.

    Dorothy married John Nickerson about 6 May 1786. John (son of John Nickerson and Jerusha Knowles) was born in 1772 in Barrington, Shelburne, Nova Scotia; died about 1820 in Woods Harbour, Shelburne, Nova Scotia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    The marriage is known to have taken place on a May 6th, probably in 1786.
