1. Lois Tilden was born on 20 Apr 1763; died on 8 Sep 1840; was buried in Green Lawn Cemetery, New Hartford, Oneida, New York.
2. Elam Tilden was born on 31 Dec 1781 in Lebanon, New London, Connecticut; died on 10 Apr 1842 in New Lebanon, Columbia, New York.

Notes:

She was scalped by natives near Northampton, Massachusetts, 13 May 1704. She survived, but according to her descendant Samuel Jones Tilden (citation details below) she always wore a black cap afterwards.

The Ancestry of Lorenzo Ackley (citation details below) says that she was "cured by Dr. Bulkeley of Wethersfield, where the family settled to enable her to receive the best medical treatment obtainable."

The Janes Family (citation details below) identifies the doctor as "Dr. Gershom Buckley."

Notes:

Came to New England in 1637, settling early in New Haven, where he signed the "Fundamental Agreement" in 1639.

He was evidently educated, and given the prefix of respect, "Mr."

William married Hannah Bascom on 20 Nov 1662 in Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts. Hannah (daughter of Thomas Bascom and Avis) was born about 1630; died in Mar 1681. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
