    From Leo van de Pas:

He took part in the crusade of 1101. He set out in February that year with 15,000 men, but his army failed to take the heavily garrisoned Konya and was decimated at the disastrous Battle of Heraclea Cybistra. He arrived in Antioch with only a handful of knights.

Guillaume persuaded Louis VI, king of France, to break the peace with England's King Henry I and throw his support behind William Clito of Normandy, count of Flanders, in 1115. Guillaume was imprisoned shortly afterwards by Thibaut IV, comte de Blois et Chartres. Guillaume participated in the Council of Troyes which opened on 14 January 1129 and is known for his support of the Second Crusade. He died on 21 August 1148, and is believed to have been buried in Chartreuse.
