  1. 2.  Ephraim Ricker was born in 1727 in Dover, Strafford, New Hampshire (son of George Ricker and Jemima Busby); died in Apr 1820 in Berwick, York, Maine; was buried in Berry Cemetery, Buckfield, Oxford, Maine.

    Notes:

    The diary of schoolmaster Joseph Tate (citation details below), reports, in an entry dated 16 Dec 1771, that the Elizabeth Ricker who was marrying Benjamin Evans on that day was "Illegal Begotten by Ephraim Ricker Junr. She was Daughter of Elizabeth Mardin."

    (He was Ephraim Ricker, Junior at the time because his uncle Ephraim Ricker (1695-1773) was still living at Somersworth.)

    Notes:

    She may have been the Elizabeth Mardin baptized at the First Church of Dover, New Hampshire by the Rev. Jonathan Cushing on 25 Mar 1739, daughter of John Mardin.

    Also called George Riccar. First seen at Cocheco, now Dover, New Hampshire, in 1670. Killed, along with his younger brother Maturin, by native Americans on 4 Jun 1706. In the same incident, Maturin's son Noah was taken away to Canada, where he became a Catholic priest and never returned.
