    "About 1671, Col. Goffe and Col. Whalley, two of the regicide judges of Charles I, were hidden by Captain Daniel in a little wood back of his house on Lowder street, near a pond. While there secreted, Captain Daniel's daughter, Lydia, carried them their food. Goffe was subsequently sent disguised as a serving-man on horseback to Hadley, where Captain Daniel had friends, remaining there a year in their care." [The Fisher Genealogy, citation details below]

    He emigrated to New England in 1637. As reported in The Ancestry of Eva Belle Kempton 4 (citation details below), the wife of Anthony Fisher was received into the church at Dedham 27 March 1642. But Anthony took some persuading:
    "Md Anthony Fisher mentioned in ye beginning after many offences given in this conv'rsation & much means used to convince & reduce him into order, at last after god had much humbled him & brought him to a penitent co'fession therof he was co'fortably received into ye church 14d 1m 1645."

    Notes:

    His brother-in-law John Noyse, husband of his wife's sister Anne Crispe, was burned at the stake for heresy at Laxfield, 22 Sep 1557, as recorded in Foxe's Book of Martyrs. Nicholas Fiske is noted for having visited John Noyse at the Guildhall in Norwich, where he was being held prisoner prior to his execution, to comfort him, to inquire if he feared death, and to determine the cause of his condemnation.
