    • "After the battle of Lewes, in 1264, he was one of the knights entrusted with the defense of Windsor Castle. The King took his homage in 1265 for the lands held in chief then descending to him. Between this time and Mar. 1266 he became incapable of managing his affairs." [Complete Peerage]

      On his death his lands were placed under the guardianship of Sir Robert Tibetot [CP XII/2, p. 90].
