• Notes

  He was not the Robert Parke who was a son of William Parke (d. 1551) of Gestingthorpe, Essex, as widely reported before Randy A. West's 2015 article in TAG (citation details below) disproved this connection. Noting that Acton and Gestingthorpe are quite close, West notes that this Robert Parke may have been closely related to the Gestingthorpe man, but he was not his son.
