• Notes

  He was a miner. His death certificate describes him as divorced. The 1930 Federal census has him living with his parents, described as "married" but with no one listed in the family who could be his wife. His middle name was indeed Harrison, not "Hack" as shown in some online trees. His middle name appears in full on his WWI draft card, his WWII draft card, and his death record. This, and the name of his brother Ed McKinley Freeman, does suggest that the Freeman family and possibly the Allen family were not fans of the Confederacy.
