      "A knight in 1197 then under the command of William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke, sent by Richard I to assist the Counts of Flanders and Bouglogne against France. He served in Normandy 1203 and Ireland 1204. Marshal of Ireland, 1207. He served with King John in his Irish expedition of 1210 and was at Runnymede in 1215 when he advised King John to sign the Magna Charta.
