    • Also known as Ralph Basset. Sheriff of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, 1420-22. Knight of the shire for Leicestershire. He served as a young man in the French campaigns of Henry V. He was present at the siege of Harfleur, but was prevented by illness from taking command of his retinue at Agincourt.
