    • He and Ellen de Wastneys were first cousins, both being grandchildren of Peter de Arderne (d. bef. 12 Sep 1272) and his wife Margery. Ellen de Wasteneys was his third wife, but before they married in 1346 she was his longtime mistress; their son Thomas de Arderne was born in 1328, while he was married to his second wife.
