Notes - He was a maltster. His origins are unproved, but circumstantial evidence suggests that he and his brother Stephen Kent both came from the entertainingly-named parishes of Nether Wallop and Over Wallop in Hampshire.
What is known of his wife with certainty is that the first two letters of her name were "Em." It is not known if she was the mother of all his children. An "Emma Kent widow" died at Newbury on 10 Jan 1677.
