Notes - According to The Biggings, Papa Stour, Shetland (citation details below), the fact that "[t]he main Tulloch stronghold in Shetland was in Northmaven, where Andrew Tulloch was 'foud' in 1539 [...] may explain why William Tulloch acquired a lease of the lands of 'Papa and Papaguids' from Fru Inger around 1543, as some of these lands were in Northmaven and thus conveniently close to the Tullochs."
Fru Inger of Austrat (~1475-1555), also called Ingerd Ottesdotter Rømer, daughter and heiress of Otte Matsson, was from 1529 one of the most important figures in the Norwegian aristocracy, a powerful opponent of the ardchbishop of Trondheim. Her life was heavily romanticized in Henrik Ibsen's 1854 play Lady Inger of Ostrat (Fru Inger til Østeraad).
