  Of Yardley, Worcestershire in 1507; removed to Preston, Warwickshire by 1512. Said to have married a daughter of "Mayhouse". Noting the near-nonexistence of this as an English surname, Walter Goodwin Davis (citation details below) says "The closest approach to it is Mayhow, possibly a variant of Mayo, which occurs in the distant county of Cornwall."
