    • He entered Emanuel College, Cambridge, 3 Jun 1620, earning a B.A. in 1623. He served as vicar of Covetithe, Suffolk between 1628 and 1636, and emigrated in 1637, first to Salem, then to Southold on Long Island, where he served as minister until his death.

      He was a founder -- according to some accounts, the founder primus inter parus -- of Southold.
