• Notes

  At Hartford in 1637; he served in the Pequot War. His name is on the Founders Monument in downtown Hartford. Removed to Northampton in 1654. He may have been the Thomas Root baptized to John Roote and Ann Russell at Badby, Northamptonshire on 16 Jan 1605.
